About This Course
In the 5th course “Eco management tool” you will learn the most important steps needed to become a technician in Environmental Management Systems. We’ll explain how to acquire all knowledge and competences required in the business market related to the implementation of environmental quality systems. You will also learn what an EMS is, how to create one, how to implement it, and how to evaluate its progress.
We’ll explore what approach an Environmental Management Technician should take to address environmental challenges in a company and the three primary processes within an EMS. You will learn about the processes involved in business implementation starting with planning. You will have tools to monitor the results of planned actions. Knowing how to monitor will help you to manage your organization better. All strategic opportunities to be implemented are more easily identified when up-to-date and reliable data are available.
You will have at your disposal a number of practical ideas and suggestions to implement in your daily routine.

Syllabus
Structure
LESSON 1: Learners will better understand how through Environmental Management Systems (EMS), technicians can approach different issues to ensure compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
LESSON 2: Learners will understand what an Environmental Management System is and how it works in a company context. They will learn how an EMS can be a powerful tool for managing the environmental aspects of an organization, and particularly the negative impacts on the environment.
LESSON 2.1: Learners will be able to recognize the three primary processes within an Environmental Management System. They will acknowledge that an EMS ensures a holistic approach to addressing the company’s impact on the environment, establishing a positive relationship and a strong, future-focused corporate reputation and image.
LESSON 3: Learners will be provided with a series of tools and ideas to identify what they want to improve within their organization, starting with simple steps.
LESSON 4: Students will learn how preventing problems is generally cheaper than solving them after they have occurred (or after they have recurred). We will explain why the monitoring phase should not be forgotten, as it represents the beginning of a new cycle.
LESSON 5: Learners will receive further advice on the implementation of an EMS in order to be able to meet current market challenges with an eco-friendly approach.
